Unit Controller

Functieomschrijving

For our HQ in Utrecht we are looking for a (Business) Unit Controller.

Responsibilities as (Business) Unit Controller:

  • Translate and/or operationalizing financial policy from the Business Line to the perspective of the assigned Solution Center or business unit;
  • Analyze the monthly results, understanding the differences with the budget, the actuals previous month and the rolling forecast;
  • Create and discuss accurate management reports that enable management to make decisions;
  • Provide insight in and analysis of developments that enable the project/business responsible to make decisions;
  • Provide insight in and analysis the development of over-underabsorption that enables the responsible manager to make decisions;
  • Control of Working Capital with focus on WIP, Inventory and Debtors including related processes and Cash Flow;
  • Analyse financial related processes and outcomes, identify gaps, non-compliance and/or potential financial risk areas;
  • Deliver input for Strategic Plan and setup an Operational Plan including both financial and non-financial targets with actions to realize and aligned with overall strategy;
  • Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures of Internal Control framework in general and SOX controls in particular;
  • Signaling risk and opportunities that threat/improve business objectives;
  • Increase of efficiency and effectiveness of (financial related) processes. Make suggestions for improvement and ensure implementation after approval;
  • Involvement in the tender process for reviewing proposals: challenging role with regard to overall bid, especially substantiation of the budget with the underlying assumptions, T&C's, identified risks and mitigation actions. He is responsible for reviewing and approving invoice and payment terms.

The successful candidate is likely to fulfill most, if not all, of the following job requirements:

  • Relevant Masters' degree (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, Accounting & Control);
  • Min. 5 years experience in (Business) Control;
  • Knowledge of governance, administrative organization and internal control;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of the business and the market;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, colleagues and other stakeholders;
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner;
  • Cooperative spirit, able to work in a matrix organization.
